Andrea Gibson: A Tribute

Saying thank you to someone who has touched so many.

Hello Divergents!

(I originally wrote the following on 7-14-25.)

The most beautiful words were said about you today, Andrea, by the people closest to you, and there were a lot of people close to you.

I think we all felt close to you, those of us that new your work and opened enough to let it touch us. The touch was transformative. It was healing.

If I do the math right from what is shared, you were just shy of 50 full years on this plane. This knowledge makes me feel even closer to you, as though you are an older and involved sibling showing me the way.

In preparing to die with grace, you lived with grace. Tears burn the rims of my eyelids as I type out these words. Your soul is remarkably beautiful, not because your soul is extraordinary. All our souls are untouched by impurity and are precious. But what is extraordinary is how you lived, how to connected to and then let your soul lead you.

What a sight to behold. What music to our ears. What an energetic field.

In a world where so many are so divorced from their essense, so many living through layers of masks and enmeshment, you shone blazenly and achingly bright.

And your light still shines in the thousands and thousands of people that feel close to you. You showed us how to be human, fully human. The many words written, spoken, and tears of grief shed today are your doing. You showed us the power of love, of humanity, and - its sister - divinity.

I will do my best to honor your legacy and light, by shining bravely and achingly bright - like you, a city on hill. Through your transmutation of suffering, you've eased so much suffering.

Gratitude. Thank you for all you've given us - that your light still shines on. I know you prompt me to cry again and I'm here for it. Thank you for you soft, tender, fierceness.

You are a real one.

Much love, your sis,

Elle
